For as long as I can remember, I have always doodled with some kind of art. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago there was art, design and culture all around me. When I was a child I did the coloring book thing and then moved up to painting with numbers. In Middle school I won a two year art degree to The Art Institute for drawing a turtle head that was in the back of a sweet seventeen magazine...HEY, I was in study hall with nothing else to read. Through the years, I went back to just doodling here and there. After the United States Army I went to college and graduated with my Bachelors in Graphic Design.
I use many different mediums, such as paper, acrylics, plaster, oil, spray paint and card board. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
What inspires me is the pain that I might have seen, heard about, felt from others or even went through myself.
Inspiration comes from all angles and at any time. The art story that I am trying to tell is from whichever angle you wish to see it from. The story that you might see in the art, is the story that you went through at some point.
